Unless something comes from a known social graph or publicly verified identity it will be hard to assume it's not mass spam. As the quality of human-like outreach improves, it’s going to become increasingly difficult to detect which message is real and not. Mitigating this could mean investing in more sophisticated spam filters and detection/verification systems.
